The athletic program at
Wilson Christian Academy is designed to encourage physical development and to foster
athletic ability. The athletic programs offer
students opportunities to develop lifelong
habits and values based on teamwork, good sportsmanship, self-control and confidence in
oneself and one's teammates. Athletics serves as an opportunity to teach participants
character. Students mature spiritually, mentally, emotionally and socially as they
engage in healthy competition through the athletic programs. The wide selection of sports
available plus excellent athletic facilities permits many students with different
interests and skills to participate in the athletic program.
Most teams compete at the Middle School, Junior Varsity
and Varsity levels. Teams are matched in interscholastic competition with other teams in
the North Carolina Christian School Athletic Conference (NCCSA).
During the summer, Wilson Christian
sponsors several sports camps for grades 3-12.
New
to WCA this fall 2007 season is our cross country team. Our students are
excited about developing skills in the areas of endurance and speed.
The Wilson Christian Chargers have
a long history of competing at the state level in all areas of the athletic
program. |
