Our 4 Year Old Room

Our 4 year old classes are a perfect mixture of learning and fun.  We spend our morning time learning about God and His love for us.  After Bible class, we move into phonics in which we learn to recognize our letters, the sounds, and how to write them.  Later in the year, we learn to blend all the sounds together so they make words and then sentences.  We also learn numbers, how to hold our pencil correctly, raise our hands, walk in a line, sit for a period of time, share with our friends, manners, pledges, how to follow directions in seatwork, how to take turns, how to take care of ourselves in the bathroom, and many, many more "big kid" things. 

We promise to fully prepare your child for Kindergarten.  This is a big year in their lives where they are still child care children, but are also a part of the big school.  We will help you teach them independence, respect, a love for God, and a love for others. 

You can help your child have a great day by going over their papers that they take home, making sure they have all of the K4 supplies, and listening to and loving them while they are home.

1 Large Box of Tissues
1 Box of baby wipes
1 Folder (see through kind)
A complete change of clothes, including socks and underwear in a Ziploc bag
2 – 5 oz. cans of Play-dough (no fun dough)
King-size pillow case to fit Kindermat
Kindermat (thin mat for cot)
Blanket and small pillow for cot (optional)
2 large size glue sticks
1 pair of child safety Fiskar scissors
2 boxes of Crayola 8-count jumbo crayons (No Rose Art Please)
1 box of Crayola 24-count small crayons (later use)
Plain plastic pencil box (no gadgets on it) 5 ½ x 8 ½
